Maritza Lew, Pharm.D., CPHIMS, PMP (Maritza_lew@elcaminohospital.org) is a Core Clinical Systems Manager at El Camino Hospital in the Silicon Valley. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Southern California followed by a specialized residency in Geriatric Care at the VA Sepulveda. She has thirty-three years of experience in hospital pharmacy practice working in the areas of pediatrics, geriatrics, critical care, and clinical informatics. She has built both interfaced and integrated pharmacy systems. She has led implementing bedside barcoding, IV workflow management systems, automated dispense machines, device integration, and various electronic health record systems. She currently oversees a team of talented clinicians where she dedicates her time optimizing systems for patient safety and looking at big data. She is active professionally, serving in elected and appointed roles for ASHP. Currently, she is a member of the ASHP Pharmacy Practice Accreditation Commission and continues to work with the Section of Pharmacy Informatics & Technology.
