Betsy Bryant Shilliday, Pharm.D., is the director of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Center at UNC Health, UNC Medical Center and an adjunct professor with the UNC School of Medicine at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Shilliday maintains an active clinical practice in primary care with UNC Internal Medicine.
She received her Pharm.D. from the Campbell University School of Pharmacy and completed a primary care specialty residency with the Department of Veterans Affairs W.G. Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. Upon completion of her residency, she joined UNC Health Care. She is a certified diabetes educator, board certified ambulatory care pharmacist and a clinical pharmacist practitioner. In 2014 she was named a fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Her professional interests include innovative practice models, billing for pharmacy services, credentialing and privileging, team-based care, quality improvement, chronic disease management, and health literacy.
