Dr Kaitlyn E. Watson is an internationally recognised disaster pharmacist researcher and the Founder of Disaster Pharmacy Solutions, where she provides innovative training and preparedness activities for the pharmacy workforce. “Disasters and emergencies are inevitable and without proper preparedness, our response will be misguided.”
Dr Watson strongly advocates for the better integration and recognition of pharmacists into emergency management and has conducted several international studies that supports her position. Dr Kaitlyn E Watson has previously provided expertise as a consultant for the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe with a focus on public health emergency management and education. Dr Watson is the co-chair of the World Association of Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM) Primary Healthcare Special Interest Group.
Dr Kaitlyn E. Watson is an Australian registered pharmacist and her teaching practices have been internationally acknowledged as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Dr Watson’s research interests are in disasters and primary healthcare, pharmacy practice, and the better integration of pharmacists and primary care in disaster and emergency management.
Dr Watson is currently living and working in North America with a focus on furthering pharmacy practice through a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Alberta in Canada.
